Let the Holiday's Begin!!

Yesterday I made my rounds to three more schools. I saw friends at Mitchell, Neal, and Fannin. The campus of Mitchell Elementary was so nice, and everyone there was equally as nice. All the students were well behaved and happy to see me. While at Neal, I saw my friend Fred, he is one of our ticket takers at Bombers games. The Neal students were all ready to get out for the holidays. Then it was off to Fannin as they let out of school for the last time in 2008. Those students were excited to see me, but I think most of them had another jolly ole fella on their mind.

School, School, School

Today I visited 3 more Bryan ISD schools, Milam, Jones, and Carver. Everyone was so excited to see me! Some kids asked for my autograph at Jones, but I didn't have anything to sign with, or on...I guess they will just have to come out to a game to get one. I was at Milam and Jones at lunch time, but the kids had no problem taking a break from lunch to give me a high five. At Carver I made sure that the kids found their way to the bus, as we slapped hands on the way out. I'll make my way to a few more schools tomorrow to end the week.

School's Out!

Yesterday afternoon I went to Johnson Elementary to see the kids off. I stood in the main hallway as the kids caught the bus, or got in a car. Lots of high fives were handed out, and for the first time this week I signed some autographs. Once one of the bright young ones realized that my autograph will be worth something, it seemed like every kid that could find pen and paper wanted my John Handcock. I gladly signed as many as I could as fast as I could. Some of the teachers were trying to tell the kids not to get me to sign because it was taking to long, I think they were just jealous that they did not have pen and paper for themselves. Johnson students were a lively bunch, and ready to get home.

Elementary Lunch

Today I visited some friends at Henderson and Crockett elementary schools. It was lunch time when I got there, but the kids had no problem playing with me instead of eating. At Henderson, I saw my friend Tanner, he threw out the first pitch at the last Bombers game in 2008. I recognized kids at both schools from BooFest at the Ballpark, or other events that I've been to around town. I've got one more visit this afternoon, maybe I will see some more friends I know.

Visiting Schools

Today, I went to Kemp and Navarro Elementaries in Bryan ISD. We arrived while the kids were eating lunch. I thought I was excited to see the kids, but their excitment may have out done mine. I don't know if the teachers liked all the screaming and leaving the lunch table, but I sure did. I saw so many smiles today at both schools. The faculty at the schools was so nice, I would like to thank them for having me out today. I will be attending a few more schools this week, maybe yours will be one of them.

Santa's Wonderland

On Thursday I got to go see some light, and people in the holiday spirit. I went out to Santa's Wonderland, and although I didn't drive through the park, I did get to go to the town. There were a lot of people out there sitting around the camp fires trying to stay warm. I smelled lots of treats that had to taste good because they smelled great! It was a really neat place for the B/CS area to have.

Food for Families Food Drive

Last week on Wednesday, I went to the KBTX Food for Families Food Drive at the Brazos Center. What a great event that was, although it was SNOWING!! There was still a great amount of people that came out to drop of food for those that would not otherwise have food. I was very surprised at the number of people that braved the crazy Texas weather to give back. Maybe we can have some more snow this holiday season.

Lunch Time!!

Yesterday I went to lunch at McDonald's. I went to the one on University Dr., so we had to be really really quite. There were many students in there studying hard for their last couple of finals. Toady is the last day, and many students will be heading home today. It was good to get out and get a bite to eat. We were able to tell the students good luck on finals, and to have a safe trip home. Hopefully they can get out of town before they get snowed in.

Parade!!

Sunday was the 82nd Annual Christmas Parade. The Bombers had a float in the parade again and it was a blast. Rudolph joined me, some Bombshell's and some of our trusty host families in the parade. We were towards the back of the parade, and I wasn't sure if there would still be people on Texas Ave. watching, but to my surprise there was. The Bombshell's were passing out candy canes to all the little kids, and I stood proud on top of the float and waved to everyone. I can't wait for the parade next year!

Big Day Saturday

Saturday was a big day for me. It started of early when I attended Rudolph's 5K. I was there to cheer on all the competitors, along wtih Santa and Elmo. Those people were out there burning off there Thanksgiving turkey so that they can eat all the good Christmas treats. It was fun being out there and seeing the people run. Later that day I was at the Bryan Wal-Mart with Bryan Mayor Mark Conlee. He was competing against College Station Mayor Ben White in the Mayor's Challenge. Conlee was at the Bryan Wal-Mart ringing his Salvation Army Bell, while White was at the College Station Wal-Mart ringing his Salvation Army Bell. For the second year in a row Bryan raised more money than College Station. It was good work by both Mayors.

Radio M.A.S.H.

Friday was the day I got to go to Radio M.A.S.H. Those kind of events just make you feel good inside. I was so surprised at how many people came by to give gifts to those who otherwise would not get them. I thought the radio stations did a great job of advertising it. Every time I would get in the Bombermobile I heard a commercial about Radio M.A.S.H.

Holiday Magic

Last week on Thursday I went to Holiday Magic at Sue Haswell Park. It was so much fun, there were kids everywhere! My favorite part was the big snow hill, I thought I was riding a slope in Aspen. My good friends Frosty the Snowman, and Frostbite were out there too.(Check below for some pictures) I could not believe all the holiday activities that they had out there. That really got me in the holiday spirit!

Lunch Rush

Yesterday during lunch, I went to Jason's Deli. The place was full of people out getting some lunch. I had planned on eating there, but the line was too long, and I forgot to take my money...you would think a giant baseball could catch a break in this town. Instead of eating, I just walked around the restaurant and said hi to people. For some reason they were all looking at me like I stood out. I guess it's not every day a giant baseball walks around Jason's Deli. It was a good break, except I left hungry.

K-A-B-O-O-M

After I ate a lot of Turkey with the other mascots from the TCL I took a huge nap! A couple of the Bombshells were looking out for my health, and decided some basketball would be good for me to work of all the food I ate on Turkey Day. Yesterday afternoon I went to the park to play some hoops. Instead of playing H-O-R-S-E, we played K-A-B-O-O-M. I started off strong, make the first basket, and the two girls missed, so I was the last one to get to K. Unfortunately, I was the first one to get to M, and so I lost. It was a fun afternoon of playing basketball though!

Thanksgiving!!

What a great holliday Thanksgiving is. I was lucky enough to spend my Turkey Day with my fellow friends from around the TCL. Marshall Wyatt, Boomer the Donkey, the Copperhead form Coppell, and I spent the day eating turkey. We tried to decide what our new friend in Victria is going to be. We came to the conclusion that it should either be a Villian or a General. The meal was great, I hope we can get together at Christmas time for another great meal. Maybe then we can include our new friend!

Manor Nursing Home

Today I visited the residents of Manor Nursing Home. I think I spooked a few of them, it's not everyday that a giant baseball roams the halls their. Once they figured out that I was just a jolly ole baseball, they liked me. I just wanted to get out and wish them a Happy Thanksgiving. I know they are looked forward to Turkey Day, as am I .

World Fest

Saturday was a full day for me. I spent the entire day in Downtown Bryan at World Fest. The Bombshells were out there with me, and we had a couple of inflatables set up for the kids to play on. We had a great spot, as we were able to see kids dancing and singing on stage to music of their culture. The vendor next to us had his cow with him, and he was showing cow milking demonstrations. The Bombshells enjoyed the cow more than I did, and the good ol' cowboy even let them milk his cow. Saturday morning was a cool one, but by the afternoon it warmed up. World Fest was such a neat event to be at!

Carnival!

Well, I had seen the Carnival out next to the mall, and I had been wishing that someone would take me out there. Finally, Friday night I made it out to the Carnival. It was so much fun! The rides were awesome, the food was great, and my most favorite part was seeing all the people. That was my first Carnival to go to, but I can't wait to go to another one.

Christmas Tree Lighting

Last Thursday, I went to the First Annual Lights On Ceremony in Downtown Bryan . There was people every where watching the tree be lit. I took so many pictures in front of the tree with kids getting into the holiday spirit. I really enjoyed getting to see the lights come on! Now if we can just get some cooler weather, it will really feel like Christams time.

Alzheimer's Memory Walk

Saturday I went and met some friends at the Wolf Pen Creek Ampitheatre for the Alzheimer's Memory Walk. What a great way to spend my Saturday. There were people everywhere walking to raise money for Alzheimer's. I thought it was cool that so many people would show up to raise money for such a great cause. My favorite part was getting to pass out the programs and have some fun with the kids.

Verteran's Day Parade

There's nothing better than a little parade action. Sunday, I was lucky enough to be apart of the Veteran's Day Parade in Downtown Bryan. I was amazed at the number of people that came out to watch, that was so much fun! I enjoyed getting some exercise out of it to, I sure needed it after all the sweets I ate at BooFest and watching Forest Gump.

Friday night was movie night for me! I went to the Palace Theater with some friends to watch Forest Gump...what a classic. It was quite a chilly night, but my brand new fuse kept me warm!It was fun to see all my friends show up to watch the movie too.

Voting Day!

Soon we will have a new president of the United States. Today is voting day, and people all over this great country will get out and vote today, including me! My good friend Ashley helped get me to the voting booth this morning. Luckily it was not too crowded, and we did not have to wait too long. The people at the booth had no idea a big bomb/baseball like me could vote, but I can. Make sure you get out and vote today!

BooFest @ the Ballpark

Halloween night had to be one of the great days in Bomber history. I joined with my friends from the Bombers front office, and we met some people from around town to put on BooFest @ the Ballpark. Kids from all over town came out the see me, it was awesome. There was candy, games, and a costume contest. Robert made me a sweet ghost costume, it was so cool they didn't even let me enter the contest. I made so many friends that night, it was great. After all was said and done, I was told over 1700 people showed up at the ballpark that night. What a great event that was for the residents of B/CS. I can only hope that next year it will be bigger and better!

Kids Night @ Wings n' More

Wednesday is always Kids Night @ Wings 'n More. I love kids almost as much as I love baseball, so I decided to see who I could see at Wings 'n More. Arriving at 5 was just a tad bit early to catch the big kids rush, but it was still a good time. All the kids were excited to see me, and I hope to be there more times to see more kids! The pretty bar tenders especially liked me...I even got to take a picture with them. I tried my hardest to get a popsicle, but I was told they were only for the kids. :( All in all it was a good time, and I enjoyed seeing a few kids.

KaBoom Goes to Lunch

Last Tuesday, October 28, I attended lunch with some students at Sul Ross Elementary. It was a quiet day in my life and I could not decide whatI wanted for lunch. The Sul Ross Cafe was serving Macaroni & Cheese with corn. While it looked appetizing , I decided to pass. Although I left hungry, he did enjoy his time with the students. Some came up and said they recognized him from Bombers games, and had even raced him around the bases before! Hopefully some joined me at BooFest.
